Research Scientist - Analytical Chemist
We are currently seeking a full-time Analytical Chemist to fill a Research Scientist
position which will work on our Prime contracts with NASA and the US Navy. Come help us build cutting-edge trace gas analyzers for
ISS, Orion, Lunar Gateway, and next-generation ballistic missile submarines.
The Research Scientist will act as a key technical contributor
on projects. You will act with some latitude in determining technical approach required to meet desired objectives. You will demonstrate
full use and application of scientific principles, project management, design excellence, and other principles and concepts. The Research
Scientist will work effectively as a key team member in the new product development process. The Research Scientist will typically
hold a degree as an analytical or physical chemist. The Research Scientist reports directly to the Principal Scientist.
Duties
* Makes
detailed observations, acquires data, analyzes data and interprets results;
* Participates in design, construction, testing, and verification
of high performance,laser-based, trace gas analyzers;
* Prepares technical reports, summaries, presentations, procedures and quantitative
analyses;
* Participates in writing technical proposals;
* Contribute to the development of techniques, models and methods, for the
collection and analysis of data;
* Maintain accurate and complete records of all findings.
Skills and Abilities
* Ability to develop
and apply new concepts; Creative approach to problem-solving;
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
* Ability to organize
and prioritize own work with minimal supervision;
* Interest in lasers, optics and trace gas detection.
Education/Experience
B.S.,
or equivalent, in a scientific discipline. M.S. preferred. 1-2 years of related laboratory experience.
